the streets felt taut with memory. everywhere those steps went, there was something of what she knew from conversations that had become them. she walked- every place they had walked together. sometimes, with a fear that she would go insane in replaying those moments in her head. the fear became so big sometimes, her lips would fall open in an ugly twitch, as though she was about to scream. sometimes, her eyes stared at the sky, which also felt taut, against the craning of her neck.
silence. it was what she could not bear. silence brought questions into her head she could not find answers for. there were too many questions. but there was no way of dealing with them. she had never known those questions before. or a way to deal with words, walks and waits like she was having to do now. so she gazes at the far end of the street and keeps walking all the places they have walked, over and over again.
