we live out of promises made in the passing. we live out of hopes of another life into which we sift everything we want to carry over from this life. we hope to carry each other across. if not now, maybe there will be another life that will say it's permissible. the aches, the madness, the anger, helplessness and frustration... we want to leave those behind. but when we carry ourselves over, maybe we carry all that too- because we carry ourselves whole. (carrying fragmented selves will not be us)
but it still is a comforting thought to think that in that borrowed-over space, we'll be free of these bondages to live a little more than we do now. in that another space, maybe we can smile a wee bit longer?
