POWER-ON

there's the grayish-blue almost orange sky,
there's the mist
there are ugly buildings
the solitary bill boards
and water tanks
boasting of their hollow Kathmandu existence

there's the sound of the hoover
there's the clearing of throat at a distance

there is a dim hum of the city
similar to its waking-up anywhere in the world.

and it's morning
