P.S. Kali was called Black Sea by those who adopted her and abandoned her. The people that bought the house that was Kali's and threw her out have three thin, unhappy dogs now.

While reading this, I'm reminded of Exupery's "You are responsible, forever, for what you have tamed. You are responsible for your rose." While it speaks about love, it also speaks about responsibility. If on simple things like caring for dogs they can't do, I don't think they'll ever be capable of loving others. Great things really start from small things.
